FORD TRANSIT CUSTOM

Transit Custom Van has always been renowned for its toughness, functionality and reliability. Now, the mid-sized van delivers an even wider range of innovative features and smart technologies.

The Transit Custom Van is available in a number of powertrains, including as a plug-in hybrid van. 

As well as different roof and wheelbase combinations, in case you need a high roof van or are carrying longer loads. Whatever needs are unique to your business, the Ford Transit Custom Van is built to enhance how you operate.

    • EcoBlue Hybrid

      The new Transit Custom is available as an EcoBlue Hybrid. This technology helps to reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions, with a small battery-powered electric motor providing extra support to the combustion engine when needed. Kinetic energy and regenerative braking recharges the 48-volt hybrid battery while you drive.

    • Plug-In Hybrid

      The Transit Custom Plug-in hybrid (PHEV) utilises two separate power sources. A battery powered electric motor drives the vehicle, while its 1.0L Ford EcoBoost petrol engine works to recharge the hybrid battery and extend the vehicle’s range. The driver can select between three available EV modes, including EV Now which allows you to drive with zero emissions on electric-only power, to a targeted range of 50 km. The PHEV battery can also be recharged using most AC network charging points.

    • EcoBlue Diesel

      The New Transit Custom features a range of 2.0-litre Ford EcoBlue diesel engines, with four available powertrains offering up to 185 PS of horsepower. And with an AdBlue® catalytic reduction system converting NOx exhaust gas emissions into nitrogen and water, every engine meets the stringent Euro 6.2 emissions standards too.

Interior

SelectShift automatic transmission

Both the 130 PS and 170 PS engines are available with the six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. This is the standard powertrain of choice on a wide range of body styles and GVMs, and it’s designed to provide a smooth, relaxing driving experience, especially in busy stop-start traffic. The transmission allows you to change gear manually if you prefer, using the gear shifter buttons on the facia-mounted gear lever. It also provides the ability to lock out gears in more challenging driving conditions. For example, on slippery surfaces or steep gradients.

ACTIVE PARK ASSIST MAKES PARKING EASIER

Stopping for a delivery on a busy street isn't always easy. Especially with an enclosed rear load space and limited visibility. Active Park Assist can identify suitable spaces, then safely steer your Transit Custom Van in. You only need to control the brakes and the gears. Once your work is done, Park-Out Assist can even steer you back out of parallel spaces too.

GEOFENCING TECHNOLOGY

Available in the Transit Custom plug-in hybrid, geofencing technology is designed to help improve local air quality. The Transit Custom Van can detect when it enters a congestion zone or low-emission zone, and the automatically switch to electric only drive mode. Users can also create custom "green zones" to reduce emissions near schools, in urban areas and warehouses.

AVAILABLE AS A PLUG-IN HYBRID VAN

Transit Custom Plug-in Hybrid Van combines a battery powered electric motor with its 1.0 - litre EcoBoost engine. Selectable EV modes allow you to switch drive power between the electric motor, petrol engine, or via a fuel-efficient combination of both. Capable of zero emissions, electric only driving to a range of 56 km. Ideal if you operate in the city , even in the new ULEZ.

PRE-COLLISION ASSIST

Pre-Collision Assist keeps a watchful eye on the road ahead by monitoring your van's proximity to pedestrians and other vehicles. The system can alert you to a potential collision and can then automatically apply the brakes if you don't respond. Designed for speeds of up to 50 mph (80 kph) (under normal road conditions).
